Today, Monday 2nd, is the New Moon day for the month of September, 2024.
The next Uposatha Day is a Full Moon, and falls on Tuesday, 17th September, 2024.
Current residents at the monastery are: Luang Por Munindo, Ajahn Punnyo, Ajahn Mahachomgaew, Ajahn Thee, Tan Samacitto, Tan Thitako and Tan Attannyu.
On Sunday 1st September Luang Por Munindo gave a talk titled, The Fundamentalist Disposition. The talk considered Dhammapada verse 221 in which the Buddha emphasises how compulsive clinging spoils things. Even our ostensibly wholesome efforts can be undermined when we are not aware that our hearts and minds are obstructed through clinging. How can we learn to catch ourselves sooner so as to increase emotional sensitivity and mental clarity?
A well attended One Day Retreat took place on 11th August led by Ajahn Thee (picture below). Another, led by Ajahn Mahachomgaew took place on Sunday 1st September.
LOOKING AHEAD:
Khun Orn Murry is offering dana to the sangha at her restaurant THAI ORCHID on Wednesday 4th September.
