Today, Friday 28th, is the New Moon day for March 2025.

The next Uposatha Day will be a Full Moon, and falls on Saturday, 12th April, 2025.

Current residents at the monastery are: Luang Por Munindo, Ajahn Punnyo, Ajahn Mahachomgaew, Tan Sudhammo.

We are currently emerging from Winter Retreat mode and looking forward to spring activity. Anumodana for all the generosity and care that made the retreat possible.

The most recent dhamma talk given at Aruna Ratanagiri was offered by Luang Por Munindo on Sunday 16th March, titled, Success Calls For Commitment.

Guest Accommodation:

Thai Language Retreat:
A One Day Retreat (in the Thai language) led by Ajahn Mahachomgaew, is scheduled for Sunday 6th April. Starting at 9.30 am. To participate, please book in advance with Daranee Batty: daraneebatty@yahoo.co.uk

Songkran Festival:
The traditional South Asian New Year’s Festival will take place on Sunday 13th April. Besides being an opportunity for water-pouring and mutally asking for forgiveness, this year will also be an occasion to welcome back Tan Sucinno Bhikkhu to Aruna Ratanagiri. He has been spending time at Wat Nanachat and other monasteries in Thailand, as well as in his home town in Sarawak, Malaysia. Another young monk from Laos, named Siributto Bhikkhu will be accompanying him. Tan Siri is expected to stay with us at least until after the Rain Retreat (vassa).

Zoom Session:
A Singapore-based Q&A session with Laung Por Munindo is scheduled to take place via Zoom on Saturday 26th April at 14.00. A separate announcement with details will be sent out nearer the time.

Vesak Festival:

Visakha Puja for this year is set to take place on Sunday 11th May. All welcome. Proceedings are expected to begin in the Dhamma Hall with Requesting Precepts and chanting Paritta, around 10.15 am. This will be followed by an opportunity for make offerings and a rice pindapat. (Please take special care to observe the parking instructions.)
