Today, Tuesday 14th, is the New Moon day for the month of July 2026.
The next Uposatha Day will be a Full Moon and falls on Wednesday, 29th July, 2026.
Current residents at the monastery are: Luang Por Munindo, Ajahn Punnyo, Ajahn Jutipannyo, Tan Mahesako, Tan Siri and Anagarika Ryu. (Tan Mahesako will be departing on Wednesday 15th July).
The Acariya Puja weekend on 20th/21st June was joyous. Celebrating spiritual community in this way was and nourishing. Luang Por Munindo gave a talk at the event called, Small Actions Can Have Big Effects that can be accessed here. Ajahn Kevali gave a short talk that can be accessed here.
On Sunday evening Luang Por Sucitto gave a talk that can be accessed here.
On Sunday 5th July Luang Por Munindo gave a talk titled Faith, Trust, Confidence.
We received word from Holland on Friday 10th July that our long-time, dear friend and supporter, Abramina Nouwt, passed away. Evening Puja on Sunday 12th July was dedicated to her.
LOOKING FORWARD:
Ajahn Ariyo arriving at Harnham:
Ajahn Ariyo is expected to arrive at Harnham on Friday 24th July, just in time to participate in the AGM of the Harnham Buddhist Monastery Trust on Saturday 25th July. The midday meal offering on Sunday 26th will take place in the main Hall, not in the Reception Room as usual.
One-Day Meditation Retreat:
A non-residential One-Day meditation retreat led by a lay friend of the monastery on 18thJuly, beginning at 9.30 am.

Feel free to simply turn up on the day. No booking required. The retreat will take place at Kusala House. We ask that all cars be parked in the monastery lake car park. This is situated at the base of Harnham Hill to the right of the metal gate (if you are heading north).

One-Day Thai Language Retreat:
Ajahn Maha is scheduled to lead a One-Day non-residential retreat in the Thai language on Sunday 9th August, beginning at 9.30 am. Participation in this retreat requires booking in advance.

Introduction to Meditation:
As usual on the first Sunday of each month, at Kusala House, there will be a session of guided meditation led by one of our lay community. The session starts at 5.30 pm and participants are asked to arrive ten minutes beforehand. No booking required.
Lake Work Days 2026:
The next Lake Work Day is Saturday, August 8th
We aim to have Lake Work Days most months this year (between April and November). See our on-line calendar for future dates.
This is a good opportunity to turn off your phone and spend a few hours amongst the trees, beside the lake, appreciating the company of others in this Buddhist community.
Feel free to simply turn up at 8.30 am at the lake with suitable footwear and work clothes.
