Acariya Puja - Honouring Elders - 21st June, 2026

This is a special announcement to let you know that an event is being planned for Sunday, 21st June, to mark the 50th anniversary of Luang Por Munindo’s ordination as a Buddhist monk. Some of you will be aware of this, however we want to make sure that as many as possible of our extended community of friends and supporters are informed.

This occasion will also serve as a public acknowledgment of Luang Por Munindo’s stepping back from his role as abbot of this monastery.

The 21st June 2026 also marks the 43rd anniversary of the formal beginning of Harnham Buddhist Monastery.

We have already heard from a good number of monks and nuns who are planning to be here. Hopefully, you can join us on the day.

The programme will be similar to that of other such events: beginning around 10.30 am with determining 5 Precepts, offerings, followed by a shared meal. The afternoon programme is scheduled to begin around 1.00 pm with Paritta chanting, an Asking for Forgiveness Ceremony, followed by talks, ending around 2.30 pm.

For those of you who are elderly or may require assistance with parking or seating, please let us know so we can accommodate you.

If you have any questions about the event don’t hesitate to email us at: sangha@ratanagiri.org.uk with 21st June in the SUBJECT box.

We hope you will be able to join in marking this special occasion.
