About Visiting
Visitors are welcome to Aruna Ratanagiri, Harnham Buddhist Monastery for most of the year and accommodation is available by prior arrangement.
The monastic community observes a retreat period from January until mid-March during which time overnight accommodation is not available, although a quiet day visit is still possible.
Guests are expected to follow the monastic schedule
which usually includes a three-hour work period in the morning, attending the communal formal meditation periods and joining in with the daily meal.
If guests and visitors wish to speak directly with abbot Ajahn Munindo or senior bhikkhu
it is usually best to ask the Guestmaster for an appointment before arriving. For

N.B. The best times to arrive at the monastery are either in the morning
before the midday meal at 11.15 am, or in the afternoon around the tea time. If
you can not make it at this time kindly make the arrangements in accordance with
the guestmaster. Please do not arrive at the monastery after 9.00 pm. Further information:
