Chinch's next photography project
The weather here at Harnham has recently taken a somewhat unpredictable quality. The north-easterly winds have provided quite a contrast to the May sun, and we’ve had rain, shine, sleet and even a brief flash of snow. This hasn’t deterred the team of workers, who at the time of writing are fitting the glass in the new conservatory while directly above the specialists begin work on the grass (sedum) roof. Last Sunday was the monastery committee meeting, boosting the numbers for evening puja where Ajahn Punnyo gave a Dhamma talk. The next day Chinch arrived, our friend from Wales, who has been lending us his photography skills. He can often be seen walking by with a tripod in one hand and a camera in the other, taking pictures of various objects around the monastery. On Wednesday Ajahn Sucitto and Ajahn Abhinando arrived from Chithurst after finishing their Spanish tudong. Ajahn Sucitto’s retreat will commence Friday evening and last until the following Friday, with about 20 people expected to attend. We are glad to have received almost full confirmation that Ajahn Tiradhammo from Bodhinyanarama Monastery In Wellington NZ and Ajahn Candasiri from Amaravati will be conducting retreats here in 2011. On Thursday Abramina left after her few weeks here to return home to the Netherlands, though she may be returning for a visit later in the year. |
