Harnham Lake
This week's fog and drizzle has not been a hindrance to all the frogs which have currently taken up residence in our ponds and whose rhythmic croaks add a pastoral feel to the place. Its also an indication of the changing seasons, and this weekend the clocks will spring forward an hour, therefore a reminder that the meal offering will then be at 11:15am instead of 10:45am. Pujas and other events at the monastery will continue to be at the regular time. Meanwhile inside, the Dhamma Hall is nearing its completion, to be ready for the 4th of April Evening Puja where Ajahn Munindo will be giving a Dhamma talk on the Dhammapada verse that graces April's calendar page. At time of writing the waxed floor still awaits rebuffing (a buffer is to be hired next Monday) and Tan Nyanamoli with Mike Pearce's help continues with his delicate work on the window frames. The bulk of the painting team has now shifted to the upstairs accommodation and into Visiting Ajahns’ room. On Thursday the Trustees put in a bid to purchase Harnham Lake and now there is the wait of up to ten days to see if they were successful. In about ten days from now the three Ajahns will be going south to Amaravati to participate in the annual Thera's Meetings and Elder's Council meetings. Meanwhile the Abbot is canvasing the resident Sangha for any issues they want discussed. The first Harnham Buddhist Monastery Trust meeting of the year will take place this Sunday 28th with a modest list of agenda items. |
