Kathina 2007
This year's Kathina will be sponsored by Mr and Mrs Lwin from Wigan (phone no. 01257 423 744). If you would like to give a hand with preparations or clearing up, please ring John Bower on 0191 253 2484 or contact the monastery.

Programme

10.30am Formal Offering of the Food to the Bhikkhu Sangha.
(Cooked food should be placed on the tables provided).
           
10.45am Offering of rice to the Sangha on pindapata.
                 (All invited to join in).
 
The Sangha will then partake of the other food offerings.
           
11.00am Shared Meal for All.
                  (Children will go through first).
 

IN DHAMMA HALL
  
12.30pm Gather in the Dhamma Hall.
 
            Brief address from the monastery's trustees.
 
12.45pm Requesting the Five Precepts
 
             Paritta Chanting.
 
             Formal Offering of the Kathina Robe
 
             Dhamma Discourse 

             Tea and Coffee in the main house
